Before choosing an upload target, check what your account can list. Your selling limit and your allowance of listings without an insertion fee are different numbers.

Find the limit on your own account

Look in Seller Hub for your monthly selling limits. Use the figures shown for your account rather than an example from someone else’s screenshot. Account and category limits can differ.

Record both the item count and any amount limit. If you manage several stores, check each one separately. The available capacity of one account does not apply to another.

Separate capacity from listing fees

TermWhat it tells you
Selling limitHow much your account is permitted to list or sell under its current limits.
Zero insertion fee allowanceHow many qualifying listings can be created without that listing fee.
Store subscriptionA paid plan with its own features and fee arrangements.

A larger fee allowance is not the same as permission to list beyond a selling limit. Check both before estimating the cost of a large batch.

Leave room for the whole batch

eBay’s selling limits guidance explains that active and sold items count toward the monthly limit. Listing quantity and value therefore matter alongside the number of product titles you create.

Suppose your dashboard shows room for 20 more units. An upload containing five listings with a quantity of five is not a five-unit batch. Check the remaining amount limit as well, because it may be reached first.

Leave a little operating room for changes you need to make. If an upload stops at a limit, identify which items published before retrying the rest.

Request more capacity when you can support it

Use the request-increase option in your account when available and provide accurate information. Review any verification request, unresolved order or account notice before adding more stock.

An increase is not guaranteed. Do not schedule a batch based on capacity you have requested but not received. eBay reviews accounts, and the figures displayed in your account are the ones to work from.

Choose a batch you can maintain

Start with products you can describe and fulfill correctly. After the batch publishes, check its prices, quantities, images and delivery terms. Review exceptions before starting another run.

There is no fixed first-week upload schedule that guarantees a healthy account. A useful pace leaves you enough time to answer buyers, dispatch orders and maintain existing listings.

Track completed orders, actual profit and source reliability alongside listing count. Use the software checklist to test whether your uploader handles partial batches and retries clearly.

Questions sellers ask

Are selling limits the same as free listings?

No. Selling limits concern account capacity. A zero insertion fee allowance concerns listing charges. Having unused fee-free listings does not increase your selling limit.

Does buying an eBay Store automatically remove limits?

Do not assume it does. Check the selling limits shown in your account separately from the subscription’s listing allowance.

Can I use another seller’s first-week upload schedule?

Use your own account limits and fulfillment capacity. A fixed schedule cannot guarantee an increase, sales or protection from restrictions.
