CHECK YOUR ASSUMPTIONS
Which fees belong in your estimate?
eBay’s final value fee depends on the category, selling price, marketplace and Store subscription. For US sellers, the fixed order charge is generally $0.30 for orders of $10 or less and $0.40 above $10. Check the official eBay selling fees and Store fee table for your listing.
Advertising is separate. General campaigns use a percentage-based ad fee on attributed sales; Priority campaigns charge per click. Check eBay’s advertising guidance and include the costs relevant to your campaign.
This tool models a single sale with editable rates. The listed presets include their $7,500 threshold. Custom rates are flat. Other category rules and whether an ad fee is due must be checked separately. Fee references checked September 20, 2026.

eBay profit calculator FAQs
Understand the estimate before you set your price.
How do I calculate profit on an eBay sale?
Subtract selling fees and your costs from the item price plus shipping charged to the buyer. Include the purchase cost, supplier shipping, packaging and any advertising costs. The calculator shows estimated net profit, margin and return on cost.
Which eBay fee rate should I use?
Use the rate for your category, marketplace and Store subscription. eBay currently lists 13.6% for many US non-Store categories, with exceptions and price thresholds. The calculator starts at 13.6%, with the 2.35% rate applied above $7,500 for the listed US presets. Choose Custom for another flat rate.
Does eBay charge fees on shipping and sales tax?
Yes. eBay generally includes shipping and sales tax in the total used for the final value fee. Enter shipping charged and the sales tax rate in Fees & shipping. Tax collected by eBay is not seller revenue.
What is the difference between margin and ROI?
Margin is profit divided by sales revenue. ROI here means profit divided by the costs you enter. A $10 profit on a $40 sale with $20 in costs is a 25% margin and a 50% return on cost. A markup target is not the same as a margin target.
Does this include every possible eBay charge?
This is a simplified estimate for one sale using your inputs. Other category schedules, discounts, refunds, currency conversion and campaign attribution can affect actual charges. Add relevant extra costs and compare the estimate with your eBay transaction details.
Is this eBay profit calculator free?
